Happy New Year, everyone!
Yuma and I just got back from spending the New Year with our family in Heartland. It's always lovely to see everyone and spend time with them. Yuma's parents have gone back to travelling since they are no longer bound to the Astral World, so they brought everyone gifts from the places they've been to over the last year or so.
We also have a bit of an announcement to make.
Yuma and I are expecting our first child together later this year, due around late July or early August. We actually found out I was pregnant last month, but with me being busy with work and the holidays, I didn't have much time to announce it. Though I figured waiting a little bit was probably good too, since I'm still really early on.
We're both really excited, and a little bit anxious, but we're looking forward to getting to meet the baby when it arrives.

... If you even need any help, please do ask. I'll make sure the time exists to give you priority.

Thank you so much, Souha-san. I really appreciate that.
I have been a little worried on how the pregnancy will interact with my abilities, if it will at all, so it's always good to know I can come to you if I notice any change there.
The baby itself will also have a very mixed heritage, between human, my demon heritage and Yuma's Astral heritage, so that's going to be a bit of a question mark on if any of it will effect the baby, or not.

Yes that's very true. It might be an idea for me to have regular check-ups with you throughout the pregnancy, just in case we are able to catch anything before it becomes an issue, since there are just so many possible question marks.

Believe it or not I have 3 kids and have raised 4.

Oh wow, you're really experienced then!
I'll definitely ask if I need any advice or guidance. With this being my first, I know I'm definitely going to have a lot of questions and worries going through this. I imagine most first time parents do.

Thank you, Shiroko-san. It's really reassuring to hear that.
I know that messing up has been one of my worries, and has definitely been a worry for Yuma too.

I'm definitely going to have to work out a balance with the baby and my business, but I should be able to bring them to my office space with me, at least until they're old enough to go to nursey for some of the day.
no subject
But just make sure your office space is like, babyproofed. Kids will get everywhere.

I'm hoping I won't have to take too much time off before and after the birth, but I know I'll have to really listen to my body on that one and it'll highly depend on how the birth goes and how much healing I need to do afterwards.
Haha, and yes, I'm absolutely looking at childproofing the office.
And the apartment. We're going to have to make sure a lot of Yuma's collection of artifacts that he got from his parents are out of the reach.
no subject
Because yeah, no artifacts in the range of the kid.

I had to tell them to absolutely make sure what they pick up on their adventures isn't dangerous, or cursed.

Which is why I'm going to have the last say on what we let into our apartment, and what gets buried in the attic of Yuma's family home in Heartland.

I'm pretty sure there is a chest of questionable items already in that attic that I've told Yuma to never bring to our apartment.

Kotori, I apologize being bossy, but can you ask your husband if I can take those to my Significant Other's workplace so he and his staff can make sure they don't turn into a tempermental teenage girl with world domination goals, and maybe have them circulate in museums.
no subject
To be fair, his sister who lives there, has really been wanting to clean that attic out, so this will be a great opportunity to do so.
These items would be much better off in museums, than in a dusty attic.
And... y'know, have someone make sure they aren't a danger to society.

Anyways, if you need any help, feel free to ask, Kotori.
I'm always available for advice.

I really appreciate it.

That's amazing news.
Congratulations to the both of you.
I'll echo what others have said here. If you and Yuma need any help at all, myself, Yuya and Yuzu would all be happy to help out if we can.

I guess everyone's gotten a bit busy... with the new year and everything, You Show Duel School always gets an influx of attention, since the holiday period brings a lot of sign-ups. I hadn't even gotten a chance to see this yet!
no subject
Yes, the lead up to the holidays is always quite hectic. I usually get a lot of orders for outfits for the holiday period. I'll admit, I did take a bit too much on the last few months, but I'm definitely going to have to be a little easier on myself going forward, now.
It's really good to hear that You Show Duel School is doing well!
no subject
But, well, that's something for dad and I to figure out as we go on, you know? I'm just glad we've been getting better year after year.
no subject
It's also great you are able to teach the things the other schools charge a fortune for.
Who knows, maybe one day in the future, Yuma and I can sign up our child for it when they're old enough. Entertainment dueling always looks like a lot of fun.
no subject
I'm gonna make sure I keep You Show going! Not just for dad or myself... but because I want people to see what makes Action Dueling and Entertainment Dueling so great!
no subject
Yes, definitely some years away yet!
I think keeping You Show going and continuing to teach people how great Action and Entertainment duels are is a great goal to have!
