Event

*Since the holidays got in the way, this is a general event post for characters to meet and speak with Kotori.
Events can take place at any point during the two-week holiday (other than the weekend that came between them). Scenes can be discussed with me prior, or you can just choose the scene yourself if you have one in mind! Events can take place on Duel Academy Island, or in Domino City!

Please state whether the event takes place during Christmas week or New Years week.
Also feel free to state whether you'd like Yuma to be around or whether you'd rather me have him temporarily busy/distracted with something so your character can speak with Kotori without too much interruption from him.

Uh. Thanks. Glad you liked it so much. I don't think it was really my best, but I was working under some weird restraints, here.

Hmm. I heard from Yuma that this dorm doesn't have a lot of variety in it's meals, but it was definitely good for what you had to work with. I could tell that the vegetables were very fresh.

Yeah, uh. Sadame's the one who handled growing the vegetables. *he pauses a moment, wait, that might be too personal to call him by his name, if I'm being a student right now* I mean. The dorm head, here.

But yeah, this place doesn't give much variety with meals. I think it's supposed to technically be motivation to move up to the higher dorms. The gap is kinda shocking.

I don't think I could imagine eating the same thing everyday.

Oh, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Mizuki, Kotori. I'm visiting my friend Yuma over the holidays.

*takes a moment to think. Yuma, Yuma. Ugh I hate names. Wait, I think that's one of those ones who've been having trouble recently. The spiky haired one? That must be it.*

Oh, uh. Samasu, Shian. I wasn't sure if you were a student or not, here. I guess that answers my unstated question.

Yes, I think it's been confusing for a lot of people, since I'm a new face around here. It's great to finally see the island in person though.

And the island's nothing special really, to me. But I might be used to it and or jaded.

I see. Have you been a student here for a while then?

I'm in my third year, now.

*he says that with an air of "I can't believe I stood this for that long, so far"*

So this is the last year for you then.
What are you planning to do afterwards?

*he tries to think. He GUESSES most people probably are thinking about doing stuff, but ugh, work. He hates work. Okay, let's go for a half-truth.*

... I guess I could do some volunteer work around the city. I'm more suited for the kind of stuff I'm thinking of, and someone I know would make sure I'd be doing it, anyway.

Well, volunteer work is good and helps out the community.

Yeah, I guess. *even though he guesses it's technically hero work. whatever, either way he won't get paid for it.*

But otherwise... I dunno what I'd do for gainful employment. I had a lot of part-time jobs before, so I'm sorta tapped out there on willingness to enter into any proper job.

Really? *She looks at you curiously* That must of been a lot of hard work, juggling a part-time job and school too.

Yeah. Lot of hard work. *not that he was in school during it, but you don't know that.*

Needless to say, I'm burnt out on jobs.

Hmm, I guess taking downtime on it for now is a good idea. Maybe you'll find something you'll like later on.

Maybe. I'd almost think about professional dueling, but... Eh. I've done professional stuff before. I don't think I'd be able to stand it constantly.

*wait, so he's done professional dueling before??*

You've already done professional dueling before?

Uh, yeah. Tournaments and the sort, was sponsored for it by my current employer with recent stuff, but I don't know if it's for me.

Oh I see. Well, maybe it's best to keep it a from time-to-time thing.

I haven't had much experience with dueling myself, other than watching others play, let alone professional dueling.

Not that it has just dueling, but you can see the train of logic there.

Ah yes. I know Duel Academy covers the basic schooling too, but it's heavily focused on preparing people for being professional duelists, right? So, it's not completely ideal for myself.

Well there's also the card design classes, the game and computer programming and research courses, things like that. There's a lot of points that tie back to the dueling, sure, but there's things for people not interested in the playing aspect.

Not that it hurts to have it while attending, of course.

Ah, that makes sense! I guess there is much more to dueling than the actual duels themselves.
