For a while now, my mom has been teaching me sewing techniques and I'm at a level now where I can make simple garments on my own from my own designs. I'd love to be able to make things from more complicated designs later on and I'll be working towards learning more.
I've been thinking a lot about how determined Yuma is with improving his dueling and even gaining new goals as he discovers more things and... I'd like to do that with designing and making garments. I've wondered a lot about what I'd like to aim for, especially now I'm in my last year of school, and I'd really like to be a fashion designer.
I had a really interesting idea the other night while I was idly doodling some designs and started drawing up clothing designs based on duel monsters. Specifically I designed a hoodie based on Hope for Yuma, a dress based on Bloom Diva for Yuzu and a tracksuit based on Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon for Yuya. I even designed an outfit for myself based on Gagaga Girl!

It was a fun idea to play around with. It's interesting to think how you can really get the monster designs to be noticeable and recognizable, all the while trying to keep them as items of clothing that can be worn in everyday life, avoiding the issue of them looking like a costume.
I'd love to be able to design and make clothes like this one day.

Those designs look nice. I think basing off of Duel Monsters themselves is always a good point of inspiration, at least...

Hm! Translating Duel Monster designs into clothing designs is both challenging and fun to do!

I'm really happy you think so!
I mostly got this idea because even though I don't play the game myself, I love watching others play it and I really like the monster designs. I figured that people would love clothing that's based on their favourite monsters that they would wear.

Interesting to find someone who doesn't play but does like the designs and monsters.

I really would love to make them, eventually! I feel like I've got a lot left to learn before I take on doing designs like these, but once I feel more confident in my ability it would be something I'd love to do.
Dueling, as well as the monsters, are fascinating, but I've always been a person who prefers to observe.

... Ah. I can understand the feeling. I mostly tend to help people from the shadows and the side a lot anymore, myself. But it's fun in its own way.

Sadly, I don't. I live in Heartland City which is quite far away.

Ah.
... If you ever come to Domino, I'd be very interested in helping you with clothing design.
no subject
Really?
I remember seeing your posts about the duel fashion classes you ran at the Academy and I really wished I could of taken part in that!
I don't have any plans to come to Domino in the near future right now but, I guess I really need to start thinking about what steps I want to take to further this path after I finish school.

I should still be around even after you finish school, Miss. I have no intentions of dropping out of the business for a long time. So do come around if you ever have the chance.
And with any luck I'll be continuing those classes.
no subject
Did you run the classes just at the Academy, or other places as well?
But thank you so much! It really means a lot to me that someone in the business is seeing potential in my designs.

I'm more of a private Couturier then a big name, though, so keep that in mind.
That means I basically custom design clothes for a very select and willing clientele.

I see. So you make outfits more on commission of what an individual client wants, rather than making a range of clothes.
I understand, but any help is appreciated. I guess I'll see where things take me and if I end up in Domino, then I will definitely look you up.

Alright. Nice talking to you, Miss.

Hey! If anyone can make it being a fashion designer, it's you! You've always been interested in that stuff and were always criticizing my wardrobe when we were younger.
no subject
I mostly criticized your lack OF a wardrobe. It wouldn't of killed you to have some variety in it!
no subject
Eh, I just wear what I want to wear and stick to what I already have! I'm not really fond of having a massive wardrobe.
But, that Hope hoodie you drew does look really awesome!

Well... maybe one day I'll be able to make it for you.

I'll look forward to it, then!
