Appearance:

Now an adult, Kotori has quite a lot of differences in her appearance.
She is slightly taller than her anime counterpart (5'5") and is slightly shorter than Yuma's sister, Akari. She is quite a bit shorter than Yuma though.

The biggest difference is that she now has much longer hair that curls up at the ends. She often wears it down, but may tie it up in a lose ponytail now and then. Her light green bangs are also much longer and tend to be held back with hair clips.
She wears very cute and girly outfits and co-ordinates her wardrobe well. Her favourite colour of clothing to wear is pink and some of the clothing she wears are her own designs.

She quite often wears a heart shaped locket around her neck and she also wears a wedding ring on her ring finger on her left hand.

Personality:

Kotori is an independent, sweet-natured and positive young woman who is very supportive and loyal to her friends. She comes off very much like a mother or older-sister figure as she does have a lot of natural maternal instincts that makes her want to look after and care for others around her. She's always willing to sit down and talk to others and give them advice to the best of her ability if they need it.
She tends to be fairly levelheaded most of the time and due to this she can step up and take command in a situation when it's needed.

She's not afraid of speaking her mind when things need to be said, but she can sometimes come off as a little judgemental and stubborn, especially if she's angry or upset over something.

Despite her level-headedness, she has suffered a bit with her mental health due to things that happened in her past and her discovery of her demon heritage, which has lead to her feeling lost with who she is. That said, she can be quite a determined person with a strong resolve and with support, she is attempting to find ways to come to terms with her heritage.

History:

(Kotori's old biography can be found here. Most of her history remains the same, only Heartland was seen as an 'Earthquake' instead of an invasion. Everything mentioned here is from the new reality.)

After living in Domino City since the Earthquake destroyed much of Heartland, Yuma and Kotori had become rather settled in their apartment home. So when Yuma's sister and grandmother announced their plans to gradually move back to their home in Heartland once the restoration works were complete, the two were hesitant. Expecting this, Akari offered the apartment to them, so the couple could remain living there together.

The two now live on their own in the apartment, but get financial help from both Kotori's parents and Yuma's family, as they don't quite earn enough to be completely independent yet.

When everyone's memories returned, Kotori gained memories about the Heartland invasion, as well as her memories of Mr. Heartland manipulating and training her, to use her as a weapon against Academia. These memories explained why her dueling and telekinetic abilities had suddenly improved, but she also struggled with the returning memories.

Her struggle with her identity worsened when she came across an alternate version of herself from another reality, where she had been raised by Mr. Heartland and had gained a demonic form. This version of her was intent on killing her, in order to save herself and take her place in this reality. In the end, Kotori accidentally lashed out with her telekinesis, knocking her alter from a ceiling beam in a warehouse, fatally wounding her. This caused Kotori to gain the demonic form her alter had.

Unable to control the new form, as well as the resulting power spikes from it, Kotori hid herself away from everyone, including Yuma, fearing she would hurt them.
After an argument with Yuma, Kotori fled into the mountain forest that was just outside Domino City in fear. Yuma went looking for her to try and bring her around and help her.
They spent 3 days in the forest and were eventually found and taken to the hospital.

After this, Kotori has spent a lot of time trying to recover both physically and mentally from this ordeal, including having therapy sessions and also practising her abilities in her demon form. She's working hard to gradually come to terms with and understand who she is.

On the 4th of June, 2023, she and Yuma were finally able to get married, after three years of planning it.

In early 2024, Kotori was finally able to realize her dream of getting an office space she could work from for her fashion design business.

During a visit to Heartland, the large theme park situated within Heartland City, Yuma and Kotori got caught up in an incident there involving the alter of Yamamato Suzume, known to them as 'Houou', a girl they'd given directions to the park to earlier in the day. She was threatening to destroy the entirety of Heartland in order to find 'Wakahisa, Noriko'.
During this event, Yuma and Kotori, fought a massive blue draganoid looking machine, which was built as a war machine that was was carrying many weapons, including a nuke. They struggled against it, using their full power in their ZEXAL and Demon forms, but were eventually able to take it down, by spearing it with ZW - Unicorn Spear and dunking it into the ocean seconds before the nuke detonated.

Injured and exhausted, they returned to Heartland, where they were approached by a truck being driven by Tachibana Rekka, who told them she had just been paid an ungodly amount of money to take them to a safe place, as the incident had put them down as terrorists, by the right-wing, anti-monster government.

Relationships:

Yuma: Kotori shares and incredible close bond with her best friend and husband, Yuma. She admires him for his ability to never give up and finds that even on the worst days, he can make her smile. She has an unwavering belief in him and supports him no matter what shenanigans he gets himself into. She also admires his loyalty and trust in others, and that he'll help anyone in need, but she does worry about others taking advantage of that.
Granted there are also times where his antics can annoy her and she's not afraid of calling Yuma out for something that he might be doing wrong.

Tsukumo Family: Kotori is very close to the Tsukumo family. She's known them since she was 4-years-old and spent a lot of time at their house as she grew up when her parents had been busy with work. Due to this, they became like a second family to her.

Yuto: Kotori shares a growing friendship with Yuto, due to similar/shared trauma and incidents in their pasts (Heartland invasions / Mr. Heartland ect.) and their resulting issues with their mental health as a result. They also have a shared interest in cooking.
The two are supportive of each other and often send each other recipes and even mental health articles. They sometimes like to cook together if they find a recipe they both want to try. They liken their relationship to a brother and sister.

Hobbies and Interests:

Dueling: Kotori has interest in watching duels, but will now actively take part in dueling with Yuma or her friends for fun.
Fashion/shopping: Kotori loves keeping up with the latest fashion trends. She also loves spending time shopping with friends.
Cooking: She enjoys cooking by herself, but also with family or friends. She especially loves to cook for Yuma, who really appreciates her home cooking and always looks forward to it.

Abilities:

Demon Abilities:

- Telekinesis: In her human form, Kotori can push, pull and levitate items that she would be able to move physically. She can also do things such as bind another person to the spot or control their movements, but she would only use those as a last resort in a desperate situation. She needs to make sure to use her telekinesis at least once a day to prevent a build-up of energy.
In her demon form, her abilities are amplified. She is able to move or levitate any items and also can preform strong telekinetic blasts. She can also levitate herself in this form, as if she is flying.
Using her telekinesis ability in both forms is tiring for her, but even more so in her demon form. In that form she runs the risk of exhausting herself completely if she isn't careful.

- Light Butterflies: She can create a bunch of light-based butterflies which can mostly be used as a distraction technique. She can also create a butterfly shaped light shield, but can only hold it for a certain amount of time.

First aid:

Kotori has some basic first aid knowledge which she taught herself mainly due to how much Yuma often hurt himself when he they were younger.
