[Event Post] General Interaction
*Kotori is sat at a table outside a cafe in the Domino City Plaza with a cup of coffee set in front of her.
Maybe she arranged to meet you here for a chat.
Maybe you were in the area, spotted her and have come over to say hi.
Or maybe you've come for a drink yourself, but the cafe is incredibly busy and the only free seat is at Kotori's table.
Whatever the situation, Kotori is free for a chat about anything!*

::Plops down next to you, with a latte in hand.::
I didn't know you drank here, Kotori-chan.
::There's a fallen angel...? Dark elf...? Lady talking to you familiarly. Feel free to determine how quickly you should recognize it's your mentor.::
no subject
*She trails off for a moment, looking at you puzzled. Like she vaguely recognises you, but can't quite put her finger on it.
After a moment or two, she lifts her eyebrows, as it slowly comes to her on who this could be in front of her."
...Shiroko-san?
*It sounds like she isn't 100% sure.*
no subject
... Am I that unrecognizable?
::Laughs a little bothered, taking a sip of her latte.::
no subject
*You can tell by her face that she feels a little embarrassed that she didn't recognise you straight away!*
no subject
Trying to get a feel for the other side of me, I guess is the best way to put it. Since I got the essence of a fallen angel shoved in me one night.
::Sighs a bit wistfully.::
no subject
And, I hope you don't mind me asking but, how did you get the essence shoved in you?
*She seems curious.*
no subject
Alien abduction several years back.
::Says this without a hint of irony.::
no subject
It's nice you're exploring this other side of yourself and are willing to embrace it. It's rather interesting!
So how have you been doing since deciding to take a new direction?
no subject
I'll admit it's nothing that exciting. I binged TV for a few days and I've been sight seeing. Nothing's inspired me for the whole new direction quite yet.
Summer heat's a drag.
no subject
Well, it sometimes takes a while, but I'm sure you'll find inspiration from somewhere soon!
*She seems pretty bright and positive about that.*
In the meantime, taking a break, doing things you enjoy and even spending time with family is also a good idea.
no subject
... I should spend more time with my son, but I'll admit I feel more like my son's aunt than his mother... Which is weird.
::Sighs embarrassed.::

*Kotori looks at Shiroko with curiosity, then thinks for a moment.*
Hmmn. Well, maybe spending a bit more time with him will help that? Like family outings, things like that?
Granted, I'm not really in a position to give parenting advice... but I guess as long as you're a good female role model for him, it should be okay?
no subject
I guess.
I probably should but I feel like I'll get bored and fidget-y. But I'll keep it mind. Though my husband's a total workaholic busy body.
no subject
If you do get the chance I think a family outing or holiday together would be a nice thing to do.
My partner and I took a small 3-day vacation just last week for his birthday. It was the first time we've really taken a vacation together, so it was a nice experience.
no subject
Hrm.
I guess I could try that. I'll have to think of where though...

no subject
Ah! Are you okay?
*Kotori quickly gets up from where she is sat and goes to help the girl up.*
no subject
Everything's kinda spinny though...!
no subject
You can sit here for a moment, if you'd like.

I'm Mizuki, Kotori, by the way!
no subject
Katherine McDonald. But everyone besides my girlfriend calls me Kitty.
no subject
I see you're a student at Duel Academy. Osiris Red dorm, right?
no subject
Yeah. Mostly 'cuz I'm not great at practicals.
Teachers get mad I skip steps or oversimplify stuff.
no subject
Hm. I guess practising against different people might help? When I was first learning, I used to come here to the plaza and I could always find someone to practise against. They'd usually be pretty helpful and tell me where I went wrong or what I could do better.
no subject
The written practicals.
I'm kinda clumsy at Dueling too.
no subject
I see.
What about them do you struggle with? Do you have trouble with the language? From your name, I assume you're from overseas.
Otherwise, if you need extra help understanding things and tutoring, it'll be available to you. Just contact someone named 'Bright'. As long as she's still there at the Academy, she can hopefully help you with some tutoring.
no subject
And the problem is I'm too good at them to the point I, um, I think the term is uh. Horseshoe effect? I go around to the point of being dumb. It's hard to explain.
no subject
I'll admit I don't quite understand, but I'm sure you'll find a solution to it.
no subject
So. Um. Who are you, Miss Nice Lady?
no subject
Mizuki, Kotori.
I live here in Domino City with my partner, Tsukumo Yuma. He actually went to Duel Academy and was in Osiris Red too, before he graduated. Now he is part of the Super Junior League.
As for me, I run my own small fashion designing business.
no subject
Is doing the designing of fashion hard?
no subject
Supernatural investigating family? That sounds like a pretty exciting occupation for them to have.
Well, it's like any creative job really. You just have to let your imagination go wild and keep up the flow. Some ideas pan out and others don't. I can't let it discourage me when things don't go quite t plan.
And creator's block can happen from time to time.
But I've trained hard in both the designing and creating of my outfits and the particular designs I tend to do I have a keen interest in.

I know working with children can be exhausting, but it'd also be incredibly rewarding!
Honestly, if I hadn't been able to pursue fashion designing, I probably would have gone for a career with young children as a second choice.

no subject
Oh, I see!
Hmn, I guess the best thing to do is to research into the types of entertainer you can be for children.
A children's TV show host or an actor for children's shows would need to probably look into things such as TV production, acting, drama ect.
For dueling... well, there is Entertainment Dueling. My friend, Sakaki Yuya, might be able to give you more advice on that, but you could use it to entertain children at events or parties.

I think Entertainment Dueling would go pretty well with it. Even if you don't use an action field, you could use props instead. You could even put on an act and maybe write duel scripts to follow.
Guess it depends on the angle you want.
The idea definitely has potential though!
If you'd like to talk to Yuya, I can give you his contact details. He might be able to advise you on both Entertainment Dueling and also the work that goes into planning out events, since he used to plan the events and parties at the Academy.

She's kind of a flake and my club keeps me busy... ehehehe....
no subject
Ah, yeah, she can be like that. I don't even remember the last time I saw her.
Well... *She takes out a notepad and a pen from her bag and scribbles something down, before tearing the paper out and handing it over.*
This is how you can get in contact with Yuya, if you decide to ask him about any of this stuff.
no subject
Thank you, miss. I'll try and avoid taking up any more of your time, ehehe.
no subject
Good luck with everything.

::Gets up, and stretches, before strutting off, surprised how nice that demon lady was.::
