[Story] Yuma & Kotori's Forest Adventure
[OOC: This story is backdated to around mid-September. It was a much bigger project than anticipated and it took me a while to write everything up. It's 23 pages long, with 4 chapters and an epilogue, but I hope you all enjoy it.
I'll summarise some of the important points here as well.]
Yuma & Kotori's Forest Adventure!
- Yuma attempts to reach out to Kotori, but his short-temper gets the better of him when she refuses to talk. He storms out temporarily, but goes back after talking to Hope. They spot Kotori in a full demon form and she flees to the forest in the mountains. Yuma packs his adventuring gear and goes after her, leaving Hope behind to raise the alarm to others if he's not back in 3 days.
- He finds Kotori on the second full day, still in her demon form. She still refuses to talk and attempts to scare Yuma away, accidentally injuring him in the process. She flees and Yuma follows her. Exhausted, she suddenly loses her demon features and falls into a raging river, which Yuma dives into to rescue her.
Afterwards she's so exhausted, she passes out.
- Kotori wakes up in a tent that night and finds Yuma cooking fish on a fire outside it. The two talk things through and Kotori finally tells Yuma everything that's been going on. The two acknowledge that telling each other things, instead of hiding them in an attempt to not worry each other, is something they need to work at to be better with.
- The next morning, Kotori discovers that the demon features are coming back, but Yuma encourages her to let them. They set off to try and leave the forest but get lost.
When the two fall down a steep hill, they accidentally break a seal, releasing a rather unhinged Tengu spirit who attacks them, as he is able to tell that Kotori had damaged some of the forest. Kotori willingly uses her full demon form against the Tengu while Yuma searched for the area the stone they broke was in and eventually they are able to seal the Tengu again.
Afterwards, Kotori once again loses her demon features and loses consciousness.
- Yuma attempts to find his way out of the forest while carrying Kotori, but as night sets in, he's about to give up when he finds some people in the distance who are out looking for them. Realising Hope raised the alarm, he is able to get the peoples attention so they can be rescued.
- Yuma spends the night in the hospital, but is discharged the next day. Kotori is still unconscious, suffering extreme exhaustion and has to remain in the hospital. Akari takes Yuma home for the day, he momentarily breaks down about everything, but agrees to allow himself to rest for the rest of the day.
